We just got turned on to a great program by one of Scott's aunts. It's called The Treasure Box and is a way to get a box of frozen groceries at a HUGE discount.

You pay for a box (or 2 or 3 or 4) at the beginning of the month and pick it/them up at the end of the month. We picked up our September box on Saturday and it was awesome.

The big thing is... you pay $30 per box, but get around $75-100 worth of food! October, for example:

2 lbs. Beef Burgers
2 lbs. Chicken Patties
3 - 3.5 lbs. Whole Chicken
2 lbs. Breaded Fish Sticks
2 lbs. Turkey and Pork Breakfast Sausage Links
1 lb. Ground Turkey
2 lb package Cheese Ravioli
4 each Burritos
4 each 3 Cheese Roasted Vegetable Wrap
1 lb. package California Blend Frozen Vegetables
2 lb. package Baby Whole Carrots
2 lb. package Natural Style French Fries
2 lb. package Pinto Beans
1 each Lemon Meringue Pie

September's was similar and included unlisted items like rice and ketchup too.

There are NO income requirements to meet, you just order your boxes online and pick up at your location of choice.
Dr. Ana Sanchez

I wasn't impressed with the level of care during my pregnancy, but due to getting laid off and trying to get on Medi-Cal, I was unable to switch doctors.

The kicker, however, was after delivery (which she didn't manage to show up for). I went in 5 days post partum due to high blood pressure and edema.

1st - She prescribed bedrest; with a 5 day old infant, this does not happen.
2nd - She considered the exam she gave me to be sufficient; as in, I did not need a 6 week post-partum check up. This is 5 days PP. My uterus was not fully contracted, the placental site was not healed, I still had 10 stitches (the site of one of which was inflamed); this was only 5 days after giving birth.
3rd - When I insisted on a 6 week check up, the office gave me a date and time. When I arrived, I find that they did not actually reschedule the first canceled appointment and were not expecting me for another 5 months and routine pap smear.

If I had (or have, I still haven't been seen) any related medical issues will be criminal negligence in my books.

*is just infuriated* I still have no birth control, although I guess that doesn't matter since I still have pain.
